Cavalier Galleries is pleased to present a collection of 19 paintings created by Guy Stanley Philoche during Covid-19 quarantine. Philoche, a New York based artist, transports us into a world of beauty, nostalgia, and hope with his richly layered and colorful paintings. Combining elements of abstraction, realism, and popular culture, he has created a body of work that speaks to viewers of all kinds. His latest series, Remembering our Innocence, was created during the Covid-19 quarantine in New York City, during which the artist called upon his memories of a more carefree time. In this collection we find textured surfaces reminiscent of the walls of New York City, thick with remnants of posters and graffiti overlaid with vibrant blocks of color and dynamic imagery of cherished characters from his childhood. This exhibition will be available for viewing online, as well as by appointment in our Galleries in New York, NY, Greenwich, CT, Nantucket, MA, and Palm Beach, FL.

Guy Stanley Philoche (b. 1977) was born in Haiti, immigrating at age 3 to Connecticut where he was raised. Philoche studied art at the Paier College of Art in Connecticut, as well as at Yale University, and now lives and works in New York City. Philoche’s work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs throughout the US and is included in several notable corporate and private collections.
